Before & After: Half Bath Remodel

The half bath has become one of my favorite spots in our home. Initially, we wanted to just paint the walls and maybe switch out the vanity, but once I found this wallpaper, I knew we had to add it to our renovation. If you have been following along, you know that we have done a significant renovation to our home and have redone the entire first floor. As we’re still finishing up some final touches, this room is 100% done!

The before isn’t too bad but nothing special. I was so excited to get rid of the tile in the room; it always looked dirty no matter how many times we cleaned it. We continued the tile wood plank floor through this room but turned it in a different direction from the rest of the house.

Here’s what I wanted to do: Add wallpaper, paint the vanity, replace the toilet, and switch out all the hardware. A half bath is a great place to bring in a design element you might be scared to do in a larger space. Spending a little extra time and attention in this space has paid off!

As much as I wanted to replace the vanity, moving all the plumbing would be too much of a pain. Nothing was wrong with the vanity, so we just painted it (Intrigue by Benjamin Moore) and replaced the faucet.

Let’s fast forward to when everything was ready for wallpaper. After researching how to install it, I quickly realized I did not want to tackle this, let alone in a bathroom. Thankfully, my Father in Law & Mother in Law knows how to install wallpaper. So I left it to the professionals! There is another blog post about How to install wallpaper.

I couldn’t be happier with how our half-bathroom turned out!
