Goodbye Dinning Room
It’s funny because all I wanted was a dining room. I wanted to decorate the table for every holiday and have every seat filled with family and friends. We used that room maybe a handful of times. We have been traveling during the holidays recently, so this room isn’t used as much besides as a storage place. We have some ideas to make this space more usable and fit our family!
We wanted a bar in our house, but I was not too fond of it being in the basement. The kids will be in high school faster than I would like, and I did not want to have to monitor that situation. We also needed a pantry because the one we have is not functional at all! The plan is to split this room in half, close off the doorway from the entry, and open another access in the bar section to the living room.
Bar Cabinet Rendering:
While we have kept the kitchen and pantry neutral, the home bar is the perfect space to mix things up. An eye-catching backsplash, a moody color, and unique lighting will make this space a statement! We decided to go with black cabinets, leather countertops, and backsplash. We will install wood shelves between the cabinets to soften all of the black in the room.
Pantry Cabinet Rendering:
Having a functional pantry in this house is going to be amazing! It has been at the top of my house wishlist since we moved in. When planning this room, we moved the fridge into the pantry. We knew this would take away some storage space, but we didn’t have any place to put it in our kitchen. This room is very neutral and simple, with white cabinets, white countertops, gold handles, and a fun backsplash! I might be too excited to organize this space, so I count the days until the cabinets arrive.
