Disney
This is going to be broken up into 2 parts since we have done Disney twice this year and both were different experiences.
Disney- Spring Break:
We took the kids to Disney for spring break last year, this was Maci's 2nd time going to Disney but Eastons first. This was also Easton's first time on a plane! We stayed at the Riviera, which was perfect to get to the parks that had the Skyliner. We had a full kitchen in our room, we made breakfast every morning and packed lunch every day. We did an order through Publix and had it delivered the day before since we were arriving on Easter Night. We even had alcohol delivered so we didn't spend an arm and leg on drinks! Considering we almost went through 5 handles on Titos, we saved a ton of money! Disney was still pretty strict on their mask mandates in the parks and wasn’t running at full capacity so it wasn’t packed. On the first day, we did Magic Kingdom, and seeing Eastons face when he saw the castle for the first time was amazing. We weren’t sure how many rides Easton would be able to ride because of his height. Before our first ride he ran over to one of the ladies to measure him, he just made it! Everyone started clapping for him, and that kid rode every single ride! Maci who was a little more hesitant and had a few more tears getting on rides got over her fear, and Tower of Terror ended up being her favorite ride. It's great when you travel with friends and the kids all push each other to get over their fears. I don't think Maci would have gone on any rides if her friends weren’t there. I don't think Jeff would have gone on as many rides either, she’s not a huge fan of roller coasters.
Thankfully, they were starting to lift their restrictions while we were there so by the 3rd-day people weren’t chasing after you if you weren’t wearing your mask. It was still mid 80’s when we were there and the kids needed a lot of mask breaks. When we went to Epcot, no one said anything to us maybe because you’re constantly eating and drinking. Yes, we ate and drank around the world. This was still during the time of the food festival, and the food did not disappoint. Now we have met many people who in my option do Epcot wrong, They start in Mexico and end in Canada, why wouldn’t you want to end with a margarita and a shot of tequila? Do you want to end your day with a beer from Canada? No thanks.
Going during this time had its perks and downfalls. The perks outweigh the downfall and the kids had an amazing time!
Disney Part 2- SURPRISE.
We were sitting at dinner after we got back from The dry Tortugas and our friends surprised us and said we were heading back to Disney but only for a day. We got to spend New Year's Eve in the most magical place, we watched the fireworks in Epcot. Fireworks at magic kingdom don't even hold a candle to the fireworks in Epcot on NYE. Each country holds its own NYE celebration, DJs and parties are happening all over the park. Downfall, don't think you’re getting a drink or any food! But the lines were so short for the rides, I think the longest line we waited in was 30 minutes. We stood as close to the skyline as possible knowing it was going to be a madhouse to get out of there. The kids all fell asleep on the sidewalk until we woke them up 2 minutes before the countdown. Easton (like usual) was the only one who didn't make it! He slept the entire time, that kid could sleep through a bomb going off!
The next day the plan was to wake up early to start heading back home, but we decided sitting by the pool all day and getting dinner there was a better idea! Worth it!
