Kennebunkport

Continuing our Maine trip, our second stop is Kennebunkport. A souther costal town in Maine, made famous by the Bush family who owns a compound nearby. The little downtown, known as the dock square is set along the water filled with the cutest little shops and restaurants.

Docksquare is the heard of Kennebunkport. My favorite section of town was actually nestled just behind the shops, off of Austin’s Alley. You can see how cute the storefront are sitting above the water. Since Kennebunkport is geared towards tourism, its actually know for having some of the best shopping in the state. You will find everything from unique souvenirs, to fine art, to specialty foods (I could not get Jeff out of the Hot Sauce store!)

Our options for lunch were the Clam Shack or The Boathouse, we decided to go to the Boathouse and were not disappointed. The views were unbeatable, and once again the food was incredible. They are open for lunch and dinner and has what they call a “classic Maine” menu. There are also some asian influences in the meals with makes it so unique. I got lobster fried rice with scallops and shrimp, and there was none left to share. Easton got buffalo shrimp, Jeff got the Lobster Roll with Butter since he isn’t a big mayo guy, and to everyones surprise… Maci got Chicken Nuggets! lol

Kennebunkport was perfect for a quick trip. The kids really wanted to get back to the campground to play mini golf and swim at the pool.
